Museums as Cultural Hubs: The Future of Tradition
One of the key concepts behind the ICOM 2019 theme of Museums as Cultural Hubs is supporting museum collaborations and partnerships. In the spirit of this theme, the Commonwealth Association of Museums (CAM), the International Council of African Museums (AFRICOM), the Museums Association of the Caribbean (MAC), and the Pacific Islands Museums Association (PIMA) are collaborating to organise a half day event to explore international partnerships and collaborations and the potential for these four ICOM Affiliated Organisations to work together more effectively. ...Silent Auction 2018
MAC is seeking donations of items for its annual Silent Auction. For the past few years, MAC has held a Silent Auction at its annual conference as a fundraiser for the organisation. Conference delegates attending MAC's Annual General Meeting have the chance to bid on museum publications, crafts, jewelry, artwork, and many other items.
This year, MAC will again hold a Silent Auction during the 2018 International Museums Conference. We are looking to presenters, delegates, and others to donate objects to the Silent Auction or to share this information with colleagues ...
Travel Fellowship Programme
The Museums Association of the Caribbean 2018 AGM Fellowship Programme is a professional growth opportunity that provides financial support for Caribbean-based museum professionals at any stage of their career to attend the MAC Annual General Meeting and associated conference. The goal of the fellowship is to promote greater inclusivity of museum professionals working in underrepresented regions and/or marginalised museums and cultural heritage sites.

New Volume ‘Caribbean Museums’ Published!
Caribbean Museums is the journal publication of the Museums Association of the Caribbean. It is dedicated primarily to sharing research papers presented at our annual conference and was first published in 2016. In addition to conference papers, other relevant articles can be peer reviewed and published in Caribbean Museums. We are very pleased to be able to share Volume 2-3 with you! It contains papers presented at our annual conferences in St Lucia (2015) and in Cayman Islands (2016) and was edited by Sherene James-Williamson and Lee Jolliffe.

MAC Participating In International Museums Conference 2018
The Museums Association of the Caribbean is pleased to announce its upcoming conference. The 2018 MAC Annual General Meeting will take place within the International Museums Conference which is organized as a partnership between MAC, the EU-LAC-Museums project, and the University of the West Indies (UWI). The conference will take place on 6-10 November 2018 in Bridgetown, Barbados, at UWI Cave Hill.

Supporting Cultural Heritage after Hurricanes Irma & Maria
Statement from the Museums Association of the Caribbean (MAC) regarding Hurricanes Irma & Maria and the Caribbean’s Impacted Heritage Institutions and Collections.
The MAC board and membership would like to express their sympathies for the Caribbean region and populations impacted by hurricane Irma & hurrican Maria. While the region’s first priority must be the reconstruction of basic facilities in regards to human life and health in the devastated areas, MAC is concurrently working to identify the storm-related impact to heritage institutions and their collections.
